1-2 Today is the beginning of the first brand new day of a brand new week in a brand new year in a brand new decade. Let's begin it with One who has been here from the very beginning. Let's get this thing started off right as we worship God today. In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

1-4 People are often difficult, to say the least. We call people who we can't convince to see things our way set in their ways or hard-headed. Sometimes it is really the pot calling the kettle black as we ourselves are not budging an inch. Hard-headed easily can become hard-hearted which is something we must guard against. Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts. I Samuel 6:6

1-6 Authors are inspired by many things and in turn, inspire us. Author is described as the maker of anything; creator; originator. In scripture, our Creator is described as the author of peace                 (I Corinthians 14:33), eternal salvation (Hebrews 5:9), and our faith (Hebrews 12:2). And remember He created everything! So He is our Author! I'm so glad He was inspired to author us!

1-7 Feeling kind of ordinary today? Good, you're perfect for the job Jesus has for you. He will instruct you when you spend time with Him. People will recognize you as an ordinary person who has been with Jesus. Sounds good to me. When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Acts 4-13

1-8 With all the meteorological technology weather is predicted and we are warned of things coming our way. We listen and prepare for what we will do when the storm arrives. It is sad we don't take as much heed to God's Word and warnings He has given of things to come. Revelation 11:14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.  Instructions have been given. We should follow.  Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book Revelation 22:7

1-9 Some of the last words in God's Word tell us that He is the first and the last. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Revelation 22:13 We hear of things that will be and things we should do. One of those things is found in Verse 9 of the last chapter of God's Word. "Worship God." May we all worship Him, The First and The Last today.

1-10 Snow came to us in the South, a snow like many had never seen. It brought unity, joy and a new refreshing. The snow refused to be ignored, as our world came to a standstill, taking notice of the white beauty surrounding us. God sent the snow and it accomplished its' purpose. So is God's Word. It refuses to be ignored and will accomplish its' purpose  Isaiah 55: 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it

1-13 We often wonder what Heaven will be like. One thing I know for sure there will be no hunger, no thirst, and no tears. I think that is enough information to make everyone want to go. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains

1-15 Parents make choices for their children until they are older and capable of choosing what is right. We guide them and hope they learn the right way. It is great when we see them finally get it right! God also guides us His children to make good choices. Don't you know He smiles when we get it right? Let us choose for ourselves what is right; Let us know among ourselves what is good. Job 34:4

1-16 When we feel weak and worthless and have no idea where to turn, we must turn to our Great God who is our strength when we feel as if we have none. His way is perfect and He makes our way perfect. Praise our Awesome God!!!!! Trust in Him today for all the strength you need. God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. II Samuel 22:33

1-17 The Golden Globe awards show is all the talk today... who won what? who wore what? who did their hair?...Is it really that important? Your adornment must not be merely external--braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God              I Peter 3-4

1-18 Advice is something all of us are asked for at one time or another. It may be as simple as deciding what color shoes to buy. Or it could be as complicated as which path should be chosen to walk down. A little advice before you give advice, hear what the Lord has to say about it first. And Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the LORD will command concerning you. Numbers 9:8

1-19 So many people think our world is a very dark place these days. We must remember God's promises to us. God's people will not walk in darkness but in light. Claim that promise for our land today. The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. Isaiah 9:2

1-21 Do you remember when you first heard of Jesus - how He loved you and died for you? Do you remember a verse from Sunday school such as "God is love." Today think on what you first learned of Jesus and His love. Those simple truths must remain in you every single day.See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. I John 2:24

1-23 If you ever wonder if God really loves you, think about this; no one had to get good enough for God to send His son 2000 plus years ago to die for us. Today we still don't have to get good enough. We simply have to come as we are and seek His forgiveness. He loves us and forgives our sins when we ask. But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

1-24 Though the road we travel is sometimes filled with bumps, potholes, detours, dead ends, mudslides, and even ten-car pile-ups, God is with us. When we allow Him to be the driver, not the passenger, the journey is much easier. And remember before we ever walk through the valley of the shadow of death, He prepares us for the rough journeys by restoring our souls   The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.  Psalm 23

1-25 We all have questions of why things are the way they are at times in our lives. Why now? Why me? When we sincerely seek God He reveals truth to us. He gives understanding when we pursue it. But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.Job 32:8

1-26 The Supreme Court took prayer out of school long ago. Longer ago Jesus told us that if we deny Him before men, He will deny us before the Father. Have the anti-God lawmakers heard this verse? There seems to be no Godly fear anymore. It is past time for all Christians to rise up and take a stand and refuse to deny Jesus Christ. I have taken a stand, and I will publicly praise the LORD. Psalm 26:12

1-27 The Lord's Prayer declares the Kingdom, Glory, and Power are God's forever. THE VICTORY is also found in God for every battle we face. Praise Him! Exalt His name! Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the Heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. I Chronicles 29:11

1-28 Precious: of high price or great value; excessively delicate It is amazing to think that the same God who cut rivers through huge mountains, saw every precious thing within each rock. Of course, He saw - He created it all and knew where each tiny thing was hidden. So does He see each precious hidden thing within us! He cutteth out rivers among the rocks, and his eye seeth every precious thing. Job 28:10

1-29 Have you ever known someone who could make everyone feel special? Maybe a teacher you had in school, a hostess at a gathering, maybe a friend? These possess a special Godly gift, for God makes all of us feel special. How does He do that? There are so many of "us." Answer: He is God and YOU are special to Him. He loves you.  For you are a holy people, who belong to the LORD your God. Of all the people on earth, the LORD your God has chosen you to be his own special treasure. Deuteronomy 6:7

1-30 Today is the day the Lord has made... let us rejoice...let us praise Him and remember not only do we praise Him for all we have seen Him do... we praise Him because He is our God. He is our praise... He's your praise! He's your God! He did all these tremendous, these staggering things that you saw with your own eyes. Deuteronomy 10:21

1-31 My Pastor often says of sin, "Admit it, quit it and forget it!!" I have found this is something that brings freedom. What about regret? This too should be admitted, quit, and forgotten. Search your heart today. Be truthful with yourself. Search for things that affect so many areas of your life. Admit Quit Forget. For you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free!!!!!!John 8:33
