I've been thinking of Labor Day this weekend as have most of us because after all, it is Labor Day Weekend. This weekend is identified as the last big hoorah of summer and I suppose that is a proper call since summer will end officially in about three weeks. All this talk of labor and summer ending reminds me of this verse... The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved. Jeremiah 8:20 Isn't that such a sad verse? There will come a day when all seasons here will truly end. What of those who aren't saved? One more verse we should take to heart on this Labor Day...Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few. Matthew 9:37 So let us follow the instructions of Jesus in the next verse... 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest.

Summer hasn't ended yet. Let's get to work.

satan is constantly working to bring us down. There is so much stuff coming at us from every direction. We must be strong and look up to Jesus for strength. Being a Christian doesn't mean that you can never have a bad day. But I do know the worst day I could possibly ever have with Christ is ten million times better than the best day I ever had without Him. Keep your head up! But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. Psalm 3:3

There comes a time in life when you have to decide whether you or in or out. After you have decided that you are in you MUST place all trust in God and never turn back, not even just a slight head turn. Just hang on and know that if God brought you to it He will bring you through it, whatever it might be. This is the time Christians are called to leave the wishy-washy, lukewarm lifestyle behind. Do you or don't you? Will you or won't you? No matter what obstacles, physical or spiritual, launch an all-out attack on your body, soul, and spirit to try to defeat you...DO NOT TURN BACK. Hang in there at the place God has placed you. Seasons pass, but what is done for Christ will last.

Today the Internet has been down all over town. (Something wrong with the Comcast system)  I was doing some typing for a friend. I could do that without the Internet, but soon realized I had no Study Light or Bible Gateway to look up the scripture references that I normally just copy and paste from whatever version I need instantly. Well instantly ain't happening without the Internet. I got out my Bibles, yes plural looking through different versions, looked up verses and typed each one letter by letter by letter which took forever! I suddenly appreciated all these resources we have at our fingertips now to study God's Word. We are truly blessed. But I did actually enjoy getting it done the old fashioned way today. It is nice to hold the Words of the God of the whole universe in my hands. Thank you, Lord.

God still works miracles every day. Some are big. Some are small. Some it takes a minute for you to catch on that God is trying to get your attention in a subtle way to show you He is right there with you... wherever you are. He is for us not against us. He did that for me today by putting a sweet little girl named Madison in my path when I visited the hospital. Wow! My faith is built up. My spirit soars. He is God alone and He is concerned about each and every one of us. To think about Him taking the time to show me how much He loves me and the way He used Madison to get me to the room He wanted me to visit at the hospital it is amazing. Thank you, Lord

Today I found out what great danger came near my family last night and again today. God is a strong tower, an ever-present help in time of trouble. And when danger is near He protects better than any security system ever created by man. Thank you, Lord, that my grandchildren and their mom were covered by the blood of Jesus and no weapon that is formed against them shall prosper. Thanks for watching over them and keeping them from harm. You are a great great God who is mighty to save

Sometimes when we watch all that is going on in this present world we might wonder, "Who is in charge here?" "Where is the peace?" Remember God sees all and is in control of all things no matter what we may think. True peace is established by Him alone. Job 25:2 - "Dominion and awe belong to Him Who establishes peace in His heights.

How precious life here is and how wonderful Heaven will be for all who know Jesus as Savior and Lord. Heaven has been on my mind a lot in the last couple of days with the death of a dear friend.  She was only 48.  The old song "What a Day That Will Be" is a favorite of mine.   What a day it will be when my Jesus I shall see, when He takes me by the hand and leads me through the promised land, what a day, glorious day that will be!
